Life in the world is often unpredictable and turbulent. We tend to be at the mercy of events external to ourselves and accordingly experience happiness and sorrow. Practical Philosophy is the way to freedom. Practical Philosophy doesn't dissolve unhappiness or sorrow, but it does give us a way to overcome limits. With acute attention and clear observation we can regain freedom from the shifting states of mind. In the process, we are able to recognise the components of our being and their functions. It teaches the value of an attentive life. This course is a lived experience, best practised in every day life. ‘What can I expect from this course?’ You will receive: Exercises to refine the power of reason, attention, self-reliance ~ Guidance from some of the world’s greatest teachers ~ Clarity of mind and heart ~ Increased depths of consciousness ~ Examination of the important questions of human life. Real knowledge is not for information, but for transformation. We offer information and provide the means to make it work for transformation, to broaden your perspective and deepen your tolerance. The Foundation Year of The Course is offered in four parts. We invite you to review Part 1 or enrol now for next term's classes or contact us for more information. |
