Whatever the impact of the current economic crisis on today's business entities both big and small it is clear that the core principles of many operations will come under question. More than ever the consideration of what constitutes a good business has become paramount.
This Business Course conducted by the School Of Philosophy’s business tutor, Paul Summerhayes, follows on from the first series "Good Business - Philosophy and the Bottom Line" (Note: It is not a prerequisite that te first series be attended.)
It examines the key virtues of humility, justice, trust and courage and the importance of their role in the modern business world.
The course runs weekly for 5 weeks, 1.5 hours per session. An outline of the course follows:
Good Business - Virtue at Work
Session 1: "Philosophy and the Bottom Line Revisited" - the wisdom behind virtue
Session 2: Humility - a virtue of the strong
Session 3: Justice - without justice there cannot be peace
Session 4: Trust - the glue which binds business relationships
Session 5: Courage - facing up to things that cause fear and stress in the workplace
